Tips for Smokey Eyes

Three eye shadows with similar colors are the basic tools for your smokey eyes. The three eye shadows are acting the highlight, mid-tone and contour functions. Highlight is for highlight purpose and usually people will choose a shimmer one. Mid-tone is the main color of the smokey eye and usually it is black or grey and matte. To have a really smokey eyes look, eye shadow does 85% of the job. And the remaining relies a lot on mascara. Remember to apply the black and volume-enhancing mascara to match the whole tone.
People always use black and grey colors for smokey eyes. Not to be so boring, you can also have very good effect for using other dark colors like dark green, dark blue, brown, etc. The key is to match the colors with your skin tone, eye color and hair color. Generally, dark blue is suitable blue eye and brown is suitable for brown eye.
